With the arrival of sites like pornhub.com and xvideos.com, sex films with a story have become a thing of the past. But sometimes a little story in an exciting film is rather pleasant.
If the short clips on the porn sites mentioned above are meant to represent our sex lives, then they consist of quickies. And let's be honest: a quickie is exactly what the word implies. Before you know it, you're done and you're thinking, 'Was that it?' If we want to see eroticism wrapped in a good story, which ironically makes the sex feel more real than when you watch 'real' sex, then we have a great alternative. Netflix. But since the streaming service doesn't have an 'erotica' collection button, it takes a bit of searching (and watching!). And guess what? We've done that legwork for you.

The Affair
What might this series be about? Exactly. The story follows Noah Solloway and Alison Bailey and the emotional impact of their extramarital relationship. The two meet in the beach town of Montauk on Long Island, on the East Coast of the US. Noah is a teacher who, after writing a debut novel, is struggling to put together a follow-up. He's married and a father of four. Alison is a young waitress trying to get her life and her marriage back on track after her child died. What's so good about The Affair is that you can feel the crackling chemistry between the leads, Dominic West and Ruth Wilson. The erotic scenes in this series, which now spans four seasons, are therefore quite arousing. The members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, responsible for the Golden Globes, apparently thought so too, because the series won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards in January 2015, with a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for Ruth Wilson as well. Award-winning eroticism, you might say.

Newness
This is a film about boy meets girl in the age of Tinder. At first, it's all about the sex for the millennials Nicholas and Laia, but they soon fall in love and a relationship develops that throws off plenty of sparks. So many that, in the end, not a drop of love remains and the relationship threatens to evaporate. To salvage what they can, the pair decide to go back to square one and start an open relationship. We won't say more, because otherwise the fun is gone. Newness is one of the most arousing films we've seen on Netflix, and yet it's rated for 12 and over. Which only goes to show, once again, that the excitement often lies in what you don't see.

You Me Her
Here we find ourselves on familiar ground. You Me Her revolves around Jack (Greg Poehler) and Emma (Rachel Blanchard), a couple who seem like the perfect pair but who are clearly missing a little something. Without Emma's knowledge, Jack engages a high class escort named Izzy, and that goes well for a while — until Emma finds out that Jack is seeking his physical pleasures outside the home, at which point she decides to meet up with Izzy herself. And that leads, in the first season, to a complicated situation full of love, acceptance, conflict and sex.Although the trio soon ends up in a polyamorous love relationship, that life isn't entirely a bed of roses. You can see that especially in the second and third seasons of the series, which fortunately delve a little deeper into polyamory — that is, having more than one love relationship. Why is this sexy series so enjoyable? Is it the charming Izzy? Is it because polyamory is a fascinating subject? Perhaps a combination of the two, plus the fact that the series shows people who are far from perfect. What we at the Secret Agents Magazine like about it is that the life of a high class escort — though not entirely true to life — is at least portrayed in a sunnier and more realistic light than in most series and films. None of the pimp/madam scenarios with drink, drugs and oppression here. That's such a cliché, and far from (our) truth. After the upcoming fifth season, the curtain falls on this series, which gives airtime to a form of love a little different from what most of us are used to.

Easy
In each episode we follow a different character in Chicago trying to find their way through the modern maze of love. The series is funny, true to life and, above all, very sexy. Several websites claim that Easy has the best sex scenes to be found on Netflix. In a review of the second season on the website Vulture, the headline read: 'Easy is still one of the best shows no one is talking about.' And that headline could just as easily sit above this review. Once you get started, if you're looking for a relaxing series full of steamy scenes, this is your thing. There's also an episode with Orlando Bloom, and one with the super sexy Emily Ratajkowski.
Coisa Mais Linda
A Brazilian series with nothing but beautiful, sensual women, set in the Rio de Janeiro of 1959, when Bossa Nova was still nova and the sun always shone. That's Coisa Mais Linda. But Coisa Mais Linda is also a series that champions female empowerment. Because you don't mess with these ladies. Only if they're open to it themselves. The series revolves around Maria 'Malu' Luiza (Maria Casadevallas), a wealthy woman from São Paulo who moves to Rio de Janeiro. In Rio she wants to open a restaurant together with her husband. When he leaves her and abandons her penniless, Malu decides to convert the restaurant into a Bossa Nova club. The story may seem slight, but the execution and the acting are grand and engaging. There's a second season on the way, and that's good to know, especially if you've seen the final episode. But above all, the series is brimming with eroticism. Even the flirting in this series is super arousing. Leave that to the Brazilians.

Outlander
In the first season of this fantasy series we are introduced to Claire Randall. Claire is a young woman who works as a nurse during the Second World War and is married to Frank Randall. While she and her husband spend a few days in Inverness in Scotland, she is mysteriously transported to the past. She ends up in the year 1743, and before she has even a moment to realise what's going on, she is cornered by the malicious Captain Jonathan 'Black Jack' Randall. Fortunately, there are a number of proud Scottish Highlanders nearby who come to her aid. Thanks to her medical knowledge, Claire is a valuable addition to the company, and the Scots decide to take her with them to Castle Leoch. But the only thing Claire wants is to return to the twentieth century as quickly as possible. The series is enchantingly beautiful, especially the wild natural landscapes, and contains plenty of erotic scenes to give the whole thing some spice. Go and see for yourself.
